Hi Cloud Catcher,
I know I've not been good about sending pictures to you, but with the discussion about the selection of a dog for the children of our new president (Barack Obama attended Punahou School in Honolulu a few years after me), lots of local people have been asking me where Hakuihi came from.
The Obama children are allergic to dogs, and Haku has been perfect for me. Having grown up with German Shorthair poinhters and Brittany Spaniels hunting with my father, Haku's existence primarily in our home has been a great joy: when we look at other people's puppies, we know that we have an exceeding smart dog, exquisitely polite, arrived potty trained without our even realizing it, and so many other things. At puppy class, when people talk about their puppies chewing the furniture/shoes, pottying everywhere, yapping, running away etc etc, we just don't have those problems. If anything, Haku is extremely enthusiastic when a visitor arrives, and she barks, jumps and licks... but after a few minutes, she is curled up at their feet being very well mannered. Her trainer, Marie, has even referred me to people who have problem dogs, holding us up as doing something right... I must admit, it's the dog, and not us!!!
As much as i loved my father's Britannies, I know i didn't train them to behave... I understand now, why people by directly from certain breeders, and I absolutely recommend you very highly. I will try to send more pictures of Haku'ihi, in her Honolulu hair cut, in the next year. We are re-commencing puppy 2 training next weekend, with the goal of ultimately obtaining Therapy Dog Certification: of course, that's mostly so that i can get her into my husband, Dr. John Balfour's office at the hospital1!! but we can say hello to the patients on the way in.....
Haku is fabulous company while we read, or work at the computer, or watch a football game, coming over for a cuddle and a run around break. We adore her.

Hi Cloud Catcher
I love this photo. Thought you'd like to know we had a big compliment on Rafa's temperament from an expert. The woman who runs the puppy school is great. Last week my Mum died and we had to go to Melbourne for at least one night.
I was worried about Rafa - everyone wanted to look after her, but I didn't trust any of them! I asked Barbara for advice - I thought the local vet's boarding facility was the only possibility. She said she loves Rafa so much she'd take her for 2 nights, enabling Rob to stay with me a bit longer. She has 2 small children and 3 big dogs, so it was fantastic socialization for her. She also gave her individual training on any problem we had - which was struggling while being groomed - and she took her to the puppy classes she was teaching. When Rob picked her up she asked where we got Rafa, as she has such a lovely temperament.
She said she gets asked a lot, and there are plenty of Labradoodles which are being bred primarily for appearance (and money!) She now sleeps right through the night in her crate without going out.
The puppy school has been so good. I wish we'd known all this stuff with our other dogs.
Best regards,
Jan Harbison

Hi Cloud Catcher,
Just wanted to let you know all is well in the Reynolds home and Amber and Ruby are now great little mates and such a joy in our life. I don't feel guilty leaving to go to work every day now knowing that they have got each other to play with and can keep each other amused until we get home.
It is funny how the tables have turned. Here I was worried about Ruby being too rough on Amber in the first few days after we brought her home, and now Amber is the big bully and beats up Ruby all the time!! Bless Ruby though, she takes it all in her stride. Anyway here are a couple of photos of the beautiful pups for you to see how they are coming along.
Hope all is well with you. Regards,
Wendy and Paul Reynolds Sunshine Coast

To Cloud Catcher,
At last we have our beautiful puppy in our home and he has adjusted fantastically so far!! We have called him REX and the kids and I adore him. He is such a contented little thing, already sleeping thru the night with no toilet accidents!
Within one week he sits on command and loves playing catch with the tennis ball, bringing it back to me every time. Toilet training is going ok - a few accidents but we will get there!!
His personality and playfulness is coming out now and he just loves the kids who love him right back. Lets just say that he gets lots of cuddles and he loves every minute of it!!
He really is the cutest thing I have ever seen, I have his photo on my computer, on my phone and at work! Any way I thought I would send you some of his arrival.
Thank you so much for everything Cloud Catcher - we are so happy!! We will be sure to keep in touch with updates!!
Best Regards Always Melanie Asha, Lola and Rex (woof!)

Hi Cloud Catcher,
Hope all is well and no doubt busy with puppies. I am not sure if you received my last progress email . . . as I never received a reply . . . but attached are some recent photos of sassy girl that I thought you might like to see taken before we had her snipped. She is now 8 months old, nearly 20kg, getting lighter and living up to her name. She is a beautiful girl, has a wonderful nature and we just love her.
We are heading up you way at the end of the year for a couple of weeks with Sassy and would love to drop in to see you and your dogs. She will be very excited to be with her own! Please let me know if that is convenient for you.
Cheers Carolyn

Hi Cloud Catcher,
I thought you would like to see Chula now at six months. She is a beautiful girl as you can see, she follows me everywhere even when I’m at the front garden she stays around me never trys to cross the street.. Loves water I’ve taken her to the beach and no problem I wen in and she followed.
She get along with Toshi ( my lorikeet) quite well, some times if Toshi jums on to the floor she runs around him, and Toshi gets under the coffee table and call me (Lolita come here!) but she doesn’t try to bite him or hurt him. She is very playful but that’s normar at her age, she picks up toys or a ball and she pushes it between my feet because she wants me to through it.At times I have to put my foot down and say “No more” I can say she is the best dog I’ve had, at her age no dog has been as good as her, hasn’t damage furniture o anything in side or outside the house, when I go shopping she stays 2 or 3 hrs inside , no problem when I come home I take her out and if she needs to do anything she does it .
Thank you again I will recommend your puppies any time, one of my clients told me a friend of hers has contacted you about a puppy and my client told them about Chula, what a great puppy she was.
Kind Regards, Lolita
